The World Design Cities Conference (WDCC) 2023, themed "Design Beyond Creativity" opened on the morning of September 26 at the Huangpu World Expo Park.

During the conference, China Haisum hosted the "Forum on Smart Engineering: Empowering High-Quality Development of the New Energy Industry through Innovative 'Lithium' Design", which brought together dozens of renowned professors and scholars in the field of key materials for the lithium battery industry, outstanding entrepreneurs, experts from industrial parks, and representatives from the Macao Special Administrative Region. They shared the latest research achievements and technological trends, discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the development of the lithium battery industry, and explored how to achieve breakthroughs and victories.

Through the forum, lithium battery companies, universities, research institutions, and industry organizations from both upstream and downstream sectors will jointly built a platform for exchange and cooperation in research and development, in an effort to promote higher-level sustainable development of the lithium battery industry in a global range.

Tang Wenkan, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, attended the forum and expressed his expectation to explore new paths for the development of lithium batteries together with top experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs in the industry, and contribute their wisdom to building Shanghai into a new energy industry leader and a world-class design capital.

Zhao Guoang, Deputy General Manager of Sinolight Corporation and Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of China Haisum, delivered a keynote speech at the forum. He pointed out that China Haisum has accumulated a wealth of experience in engineering design and general contracting in the new energy and new materials sectors, gradually shaping the capability to provide comprehensive engineering services for the whole industry chain. He hopes that this forum will promote exchange and cooperation among industry, academia, and research institutions in the lithium battery field and contribute to the industry's innovative development. Meanwhile, he proposed to jointly build a platform, using smart engineering as a carrier, to create more excellent lithium battery products and services in various aspects, from planning to engineering design, from material design to product design, from R&D to process design, and to help lithium battery companies achieve higher-quality sustainable development worldwide!

The forum invited renowned professors and scholars in the field of lithium battery materials from multiple universities to share the latest research achievements and technological trends.

Professor Sun Yaojie from the School of Information Science and Engineering at Fudan University believes that the world energy is undergoing changes, and it is essential to focus on the development of energy storage and the digitization of energy systems.

Professor Yang Jun from Shanghai Jiao Tong University introduced the development trajectory of high-energy lithium batteries and the main strategies for stable silicon electrode structures and cycling performance.

Hu Yanjie, Deputy Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology, focused on lithium battery additives, sharing the design and application of material systems, as well as introducing flame combustion technology.

Guo Xueyi, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Central South University, shared the four major challenges faced by the University in the new energy industry: resource guarantee, utilization and recycling, battery performance, and intelligent control, and proposed comprehensive solutions.

Wan Hua, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of China Haisum CEC, shared the technical difficulties, pain points, and development direction of lithium battery engineering.

In addition, Chen Zhiming, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of China Haisum, together with outstanding entrepreneurs in the field of lithium battery key materials, experts from industrial parks, and representatives from the Macao Special Administrative Region discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the development of the lithium battery industry, contributing wisdom to promote the high-quality development of the engineering industry.

The "Dialogue" roundtable session brimmed with exciting moments, during which answers and guidance were provided to the questions raised by the guests, receiving high praise.

At this forum, China Haisum officially reached the Initiative for Exchange and Cooperation in the Lithium Battery Industry-Academia-Research Platform with Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China University of Science and Technology, Central South University, the Macao Special Administrative Region, and well-known lithium battery enterprises such as Jiangsu Evergrande Lithium Industry, GCL Technology, and Shanghai Nonferrous Metal Technology.

Chen Rongrong, China Haisum's Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, and Chairman of the China Engineering Construction Association of Light Industry, presented an introduction to the establishment of the platform and the ways of exchange and collaboration. The goal is to enhance the collaboration and deep integration among businesses, universities, research institutions, industry organizations, governments, and financial institutions, in order to address the technical and application challenges in actual production and operations, and to bolster high-quality development of the lithium battery industry.

During the event, participating experts and leaders visited the brand exhibition hall of China Haisum and the conference's corporate exhibition area - the China Haisum booth, gaining a comprehensive understanding of Haisum's story in the light industry and feeling the power behind "Made in China".
